What to Expect at Your First Class at Starr Village CrossFit

So, you’re thinking about trying CrossFit.

Maybe you’re excited. Maybe you’re nervous. (Or both.)
You’re wondering what exactly you’re walking into.

At Starr Village CrossFit, we specialize in helping first-timers feel welcome, supported, and successful from day one.

Here’s your step-by-step guide to your very first class 👇

✅ Step 1: Book Your Free Class

We offer ONE free class to give you a no-pressure chance to:

  • Experience the vibe
  • Meet our coaching staff
  • Try the workout for yourself

👟 Step 2: What to Wear + Bring

Keep it simple:

  • Wear: Comfortable workout clothes and athletic shoes
  • Bring: A water bottle, a towel (if you sweat a lot), and an open mind

That’s it!

⏰ Step 3: Arrive 10–15 Minutes Early

You’ll be greeted by Coach Kelvin, owner and head coach.
He’ll:

  • Show you around
  • Get you checked in
  • Chat about your goals or any past injuries
  • Walk you through how to scale the workout for your level

🧠 Step 4: Class Breakdown

Each class lasts about 60 minutes and includes:

🔥 Warm-Up (10–15 min)

Dynamic stretching + gentle movement to get you prepped.

🏋️‍♂️ Skill or Strength Work (15–20 min)

We’ll go over technique—think squats, presses, or new CrossFit skills.
Coach Kelvin will scale everything to your level and make sure you’re safe.

💨 WOD (Workout of the Day) (10–20 min)

This is the fun, challenging part of the workout.
No worries—it’s always scalable for beginners.

🧘‍♀️ Cool Down (5 min)

Stretching + recovery tips so you leave feeling better than you came.
